As brand architects, we work closely with each client to map out a customized blueprint by which a consistent, memorable brand can be created. Once a plan is in place, we can also act as the general contractors of your brand to oversee its construction and ensure it's built to spec.

about us

Hi there! I’m Chelsea Hughes, Founder & Chief Brand Architect of Blueprint Branding. And I’m passionate about brands: creating them, recreating them and improving them.

This passion led me down a career path I’ve loved—from managing national brands at the largest independent ad agency in America, to helping launch a startup and turn it into a billion-dollar global phenomenon, to rebranding a 56-year-old Texas bank while managing all marketing aspects of an acquisition.

These diverse roles allowed me to gain extensive experience in all things brand: strategy, creation, development, experience, management and rebranding. In addition to brand work, my specialties include copywriting, creative direction, project management, process design, event planning, merchandising, public speaking and team management.

Blueprint Branding is structured as a collaborative marketing agency, meaning if anything falls outside my realm of expertise listed above, I simply partner with an expert from my industry-wide network of trusted contractors to help me get the job done. But no matter the size of the project, I remain your designated point of contact.

brand design

Whether it’s creating a new brand from scratch or revamping an existing one, brand design is what we do best. Blueprint’s strategic process for brand design is outlined in the five steps below:

  1. SWOT ANALYSIS: We start with SWOT analysis to help us get on the same page about your goals for your business and its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the marketplace.

  2. NAMING WORKSHOP: If you don’t already have a name for your business, we conduct a strategic naming workshop to ideate what your new or rebranded venture could be called.

  3. BRAND BLUEPRINT WORKSHOP: During this interactive session, we brainstorm the blueprint for your new brand together. The resulting strategy includes your brand’s vision, mission, positioning, personality and core values (if desired). And if it doesn’t happen organically during the workshop, we can also recommend a tagline for your company.

  4. LOGO DEVELOPMENT: Only after your brand blueprint is in place do we begin to develop it visually. We provide several different directions for your logo, then perfect the design—and finally—colorize it. We work closely with you along the way to ensure you’re thrilled with the result!

  5. BRAND STANDARDS DEVELOPMENT: Once the logo is finalized, we create a visual identity for your brand, including color palette, typography, imagery, patterns and icons. These details are documented in a one-page cheat sheet that also includes your brand blueprint and logo. This set of brand standards ensures that anyone who ever touches your business can consistently capture the essence of your brand, no matter their role. It’s the benchmark by which you can measure all future work.

After brand design is complete, Blueprint Branding can build, launch and manage your brand as needed.

Within your company, we can help position your new brand for success by facilitating trainings, discussions and brainstorms with your team, including:

  • Core values implementation to drive company culture

  • Measurable customer service standards creation to wow guests

  • Process development to increase speed and efficiency

As for public-facing marketing assets, we can handle anything that needs to be created for your brand, including:

  • Print — Business set, collateral, signage, packaging, merchandise, etc.

  • Content — Press releases, articles, blog posts, email, etc.

  • Traditional — TV, radio, out of home, photography, etc.

  • Digital — Web design, video, social media, etc.

  • Events — Branding, planning, promotion, facilitation, etc.

Blueprint Branding developed and implemented the marketing strategy for Junior League of Richardson’s Spring Market & Craft Boutique, our chapter’s largest fundraiser to date. Even though this was entirely a volunteer position, Chelsea put 100% into every aspect of her work.
